My Child's Learning: Our Curriculum
We have a fantastic collective understanding of how children learn and how to help them to achieve their very best.
We know that children are active learners and understand that they enjoy learning together. We appreciate that children like to have a say in what they learn and how, we call this child-steered learning. We value the opportunity to take our children on exciting adventures and we love welcoming inspirational visitors in school.
We understand the importance of key skills in reading, writing and mathematics and insist that our children master these.
Crucially, we know that children learn best when immersed in an exciting topic. With the introduction of whole school topics we have made learning more memorable, exciting and playful. Our school studies topics with progressively challenging objectives for each year group.
By learning together as a whole school community we share ideas, excitement, adventures, trips; teachers share their planning and we all (children and adults) learn from one another. We are collaborative, innovative, curious and questioning.
We challenge and encourage one another to be the very best we can be.
If you would like to know more about any aspect of our school curriculum please speak to your child's class teacher. If you are a prospective parent and wish to find out more please contact the school office and ask to speak to either Mrs Rattigan or Miss Wilkins, our Assistant Headteachers and Curriculum/Assessment Leads.
