Exploring the woods
In year 1 we have been exploring the story "Where's my Teddy?". We wanted to describe what the woods were like, so Sycamore class thought it would be a good idea to go out and explore our own Forest School to get some ideas. We enjoyed looking around and describing what we could see, hear, smell and feel in the forest. Together, we came up with some fabulous adjectives to use in our writing!
Here are a few examples:
"The bark is dry, rough and bumpy".
"The leaves are wet and crunchy under our feet."
"The mud is squelchy and brown."
"The sticks are dry because they snap easily."
"We can smell fresh air and leaves and grass."
"We can hear beautiful birds singing and the wind rustling the leaves in the trees."
