We love learning
This week at school we have been Artists specialising in sculpture. We took inspiration from sculptures we have seen in our city. We watched a video about Bananas and where they come from. We also talked about the Fairtrade symbol and what it means for the farmers and their families. The Bee Bots followed our instructions to move forwards and backwards on a mat. For PSHE we talked about stretching ourselves to achieve new goals. Some children talked about attempting the monkey bars at the park, new karate moves and learning to swim. We all agreed that these goals take small steps but make us feel so proud once we have completed them. This week we met Kitty Wilkinson a famous Liverpool lady. Did you know her statue in St Georges Hall is the only woman statue, she's rolling up her sleeves - meaning she's ready to get the job done! In RE we looked at Arabic calligraphy and listened to a story called The boy who threw stones at trees. In Geography we found the UK using Google Earth and discussed how we belong to the UK. In Literacy we wrote riddles about different animals. We celebrated the year of the Tiger by making and decorating tigers, Happy Lunar New Year to all our families who celebrate!
A lovely week enjoyed by all.
