Welcome back Kindi!
Good Morning,
We hope you all had a restful week and enjoyed half term.
This half term we are continuing with our key question 'Should we still care about things we cannot see?' and we are also continuing to investigate our key concepts of 'identity, individuality, fairness, friendship and responsibility. This week we are focusing on the concept of individuality and we are going to make our own self-portraits. The children are going to use a mirror to look careful at their own features and using paint will complete a portrait of themselves. The children will also explore colour mixing to create a true likeness of themselves. We will discuss with the children that we are all individuals and we are special and unique.
Our book this week is The Paper Dolls by Julia Donaldson. This book explores friendship, growing and changing as well as identity and individuality so it allows the children to explore and think carefully about some of our key concepts. We will also be making our own paper dolls and discussing who their special friends are. Shortly we will post a video of our story time with Miss Milner so watch this space!
For Maths this week we are investigating 2D shapes. The children will be going on a shape hunt around Nursery and the playground. We be also continuing to practice our counting and ordering numbers 1-10.
Our sound this week in phonics is 'A'. We will shortly be sending you a video clip from RWInc.
It would be fantastic if you could send photographs of you enjoying these activities at home too.
