Welcome to a new week Year 2 - week 5

Good morning everyone and welcome to week 5 of learning.

In your week 5 and 6 pack you will find 2 new books by the same author Julia Donaldson. This week we are focusing on The Princess and the Wizard and there is a task per day focusing on basic skills, grammar, spelling, punctuation, comprehension and creative writing.

White Rose Maths this week focuses on 2,5 and 10 times tables and division as sharing equal groups. There is a video that introduces concepts and new learning needed to complete the appropriate worksheet and also included in the pack are daily challenges to be completed, one per day.

We have also included a Learning Log in your pack focusing on project learning and exploring for this half term. You will find activities involving scientific investigations, World War 1 links with history and geography and RE research. You can complete these tasks in any order over the next 2 weeks alongside the tasks set on Purple Mash.

Also, if you click on Serial Mash on your child's home page of Purple Mash there are reading books and reading activities that your child can access. The 'Diamonds' books are the ones that will be age appropriate for your child. However, if your child is a very confident and fluent reader then you may also want to explore 'Emeralds' books.
